PROFESSIONAL SERVICES OFFERED

FAMILY THERAPY

Family therapy is often focused on making needed changes within the family system such as improving communication skills and family interactions, as well as increasing family support among family members.

INDIVDUAL COUNSELING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY

A non-physical treatment whereby the therapist adopts a particular structure (for example, interpersonal, cognitive, cognitive-behavioural) to address symptoms and/or personality problems experienced by an individual. It has a number of non-specific components (for example, empathy) that may be therapeutic in themselves.

COUPLE AND MARITAL THERAPY

Marital therapy is usually beneficial where the relationship between the two spouses may become out of balance and it is more or less independent of the rest of the family.

CHILD AND ADOLESCENT COUNSELING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY

Counseling an adolescent or child is usually a much different process than helping an adult. The counselor tries to help the adolescent or child understand and define the issues in their life that may be causing them uneasiness. Understanding the different types of pressures an adolescent or child is under is key to helping them through it.

Many of Barbara Kenedy and Associates staff have experience in a educational environment and can help school officials resolve important issues with students.
